Module 1: Introduction
Hear the story that started it all. In this module, Harmony shares her journey from working in strip clubs under the control of a pimp, to founding an organization that reaches and empowers women on a global scale.
Module 2: Mission & Values
Learn why the ever-so-common “rescue mentality” can be damaging to outreach and recovery efforts. Explore the top three values of Treasures and how they might infuse the work that you do. The Outreach and Care track will also cover how to develop a mission statement, determine your values and choose a name that properly reflects both.
Module 3: Faith and Partnership
*Not included in Allies & Service Providers Track*
Discover why conventional approaches to ministry may be ineffective and even harmful. Learn how to meaningfully engage your faith in a way that considers the felt needs and pain points of the women you desire to serve. Explore tangible ways of engaging your local church.
Module 4: Unpacking Exploitation
Take a deep dive into exploitation and the broader issues that fuel sex trafficking. Learn about the unique tactics of different types of traffickers and explore the individual and systemic issues that lure women in and keep them stuck.
Module 5: Psychological Chains
Why doesn’t she just leave? This module will answer this question with a deep dive into the psychosocial factors that play a role in keeping women trapped in the commercial sex industry, exploitation and trafficking.
Module 6: Outreach

This module shares best practices that will help you start or sustain an effective outreach. You’ll also get the the tools you need to thoroughly develop a customized outreach strategy for your city and context.
Module 7: Care
How can we effectively empower, support and serve those impacted by the commercial sex industry and trafficking? This track will explore Treasures’ unique, survivor-developed, trauma-informed best practices for care. These principles and practices have been honed over the course of two decades and are sure to bring strength to the work that you do.
Module 8: Healthy Leadership
In a field that is known for high burn-out rates and compassion fatigue, the importance of emotionally healthy leadership cannot be overstated. This module seeks to empower leaders with insights into the signs of and solutions to codependent tendencies, the liberating role of boundaries, and the ability to recognize and address secondary trauma. Through it, you will learn leadership practices that will enable you to engage in this work in a way that is healthy and sustainable.
Module 9: Share Responsibly
Learn why much of the language and images used in anti-trafficking efforts are actually damaging to the cause. This module will share key principles that will help you communicate, educate, and engage others in a way that will establish you as a trustworthy, reliable source.

Volunteers are the driving force behind the work of Treasures. In this module, we will provide you with strategies for building and training a thriving volunteer team. Also included are volunteer application forms and other training materials to give you a jumpstart.

You have one year from your purchase date to access and go through the training.
+ Who is this training for?
This training is for volunteers, allies, service providers, family members and anyone who wants to make an impact in the lives of those impacted by the commercial sex industry or trafficking.
+ My team could benefit from this training. Can I share this with a group?
We made a tier for Organizations available for this purpose. The Organization membership grants 10 people access to the course for the Allies & Service Provider and Faith-Based Allies & Service Provider Tracks. The Outreach and Care Track Organization tier grants 5 seats for your leadership team.
+ Should my volunteers go through this training?
Our Outreach and Care track includes a training module specifically for your outreach volunteers. The Volunteer Training does not cover care, psychological chains, healthy leadership and a number of topics that would benefit your leadership or care team. If your leadership team includes multiple members, or you need to provide training to anyone providing care or direct services, please purchase the Organizations option. Note that while you have one-year to go through the leadership training, the Volunteer Training does not expire.
+ Is this an in-person training?
No. This is an e-course.
+ I don’t have a history of trauma or a background in the sex-industry. Can I still help survivors?
Absolutely! Our volunteers and leadership team come from all walks of life.
+ I do not currently volunteer or work as a service provider, can I still take this course?
Yes! Our training is for anyone interested in making a difference in the lives of those who have been impacted by the commercial sex industry and/or trafficking.
+ Will I receive a certificate for completing this course?
While we are not yet able to offer continuing education units for this course, you will receive a certificate of completion indicating the number of hours completed.
+ Can I lead a group through this course?
Yes! We created an organization membership which will grant access to the course for 5-10 people. If you need to provide access to more than 10 people or train a larger group, please contact training@iamatreasure.com for bulk rate discounts.
+ Do you offer this training in person?
